What is a Final Construction Drawing?

Final construction drawings are the official, detailed plans that guide the actual building of a project. They are the last, approved version of all drawings before or during construction and include all the specifications a builder needs to follow.

Final construction drawings may reference:

  1. Structural engineering drawings
  2. Civil engineering drawings
  3. Electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical plans
  4. Specifications or schedules

How Do I Obtain This Document?

  1. A building designer usually prepares the DA set and the CC/CDC set.
  2. Contact the designer via email or phone and request a PDF copy. Ask specifically for “final construction drawings” rather than approval plans- they often differ, especially after council conditions.
