What Is a Safety Management Plan?
A Safety Management Plan (SMP) is a key document that outlines how you will manage health and safety risks on your construction site. It’s a legal requirement for many residential builds and must be completed before major site works begin.
Your SMP will cover things like:
- Site rules and access controls
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements
- Emergency procedures
- Hazard and risk management protocols
- Contact details for emergency services and key contractors
This task helps ensure that your site complies with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and that everyone on site understands how to work safely.

What You Need to Do
1. Download the Safety Management Plan Template
2. Fill Out the Template
Add your project details, including:
- Site address
- Contractor names and contact numbers
- Emergency contacts
- Identified hazards and control measures
- Site-specific safety rules
3. Upload Your Completed SMP
Save your completed file as a PDF and upload it to your Document Library. Tag it as: "Compliance – Safety Management Plan"
