What Is the Final Inspection for Electricity Pole Connection?
The final inspection is conducted by your Electricity Provider (e.g. Energex or Ergon in Queensland) to confirm that your Temporary Electricity Pole is correctly installed and meets all safety and compliance standards.
This is the last step before the pole can be officially connected to the power network.

Why is this Needed?
The final inspection is a critical safety and compliance step. Your Electricity Provider must verify that your Temporary Electricity Pole:
- Is installed to the correct standards
- Meets safety clearance and stability requirements
- Includes compliant metering equipment and access provisions
- Poses no risk to people, property, or the electrical network
Without this inspection, the electricity provider cannot legally or safely connect your site to the power supply. Failing to complete it on time can delay your build or trigger rework.
How it Works
1. Confirm the pole is installed by your licensed Electricity Pole Contractor and meets all clearance, metering, and access requirements.
2. Contact your Electricity Provider to schedule the final inspection date and time.
3. Ensure clear site access — unlocked gates, no obstructions, and any safety signage or fencing in place as needed.
4. Coordinate with your contractor or electrician if they need to be present for inspection or meter setup.
5. Wait for confirmation that the inspection has passed and the site is ready for energisation.
