What is a Mine Subsidence Report?
A Mine Subsidence Report is an official assessment from Subsidence Advisory NSW confirming whether your property lies within a Mine Subsidence District. If it does, the report outlines whether any design, approval, or construction controls apply due to the risk of ground movement caused by historical or active mining activity.

Why is this Needed?
If your property is in a subsidence-affected area, you are legally required to obtain this report before construction can proceed. It ensures your project is safe, suitable for the land, and compliant with building controls specific to areas at risk of mine-related ground movement.
How it Works
1. Go to the
Subsidence Advisory NSW website

2. Use the Property Search Tool to check if your property is in a Mine Subsidence District

3. If your property is within a subsidence area, you’ll need to lodge a Subsidence Assessment Application: Start application via Online Portal

- Your property address
