What is a Windows & External Door Appointment?
This is a dedicated meeting with your window and door supplier to review and finalise your selections for frame styles, glass types, configurations, and hardware. The appointment ensures your selections are accurate, compliant, and ready for manufacture and installation.
Why is this Needed?
This appointment helps to:
- Confirm that your selections match the approved building plans
- Ensure compliance with energy efficiency, BAL ratings, or estate guidelines
- Lock in product details for accurate quoting, ordering, and delivery
- Prevent delays or costly revisions later in the build
How it Works
1. Confirm your supplier: Contact our Expert Guidance and Support team to confirm your allocated vendor for windows and external doors.
2. Book your appointment
- Visit the supplier’s website or call directly
- Look for options like “Book a Selection Appointment” or “Request Consultation”
- Fill in your details and include any specific questions or requirements
3. Prepare for your appointment. Bring or have access to:
- Your approved house plans
- Developer or estate design guidelines (if applicable)
- Any preferences for colour, finish, handle types, or glazing
4. Attend your selection appointment
- Review window and door frame styles
- Choose glazing options (clear, tinted, low-e, obscure, double-glazed)
- Confirm hardware, opening directions, and compliance factors (e.g. fall protection, egress)
5. Lock in your selections: Record final product codes and configurations
Once Confirmed
Once you've locked in your Windows and External Door Selections, upload it to the Document Library and then click the
orange “Mark Complete” button to move to the next step in your construction workflow.
