What is a Flood Report Assessment?
A Flood Report Assessment identifies whether your property is affected by flood hazards and outlines any specific design or siting controls required for safe construction. It uses flood modelling, site levels, and stormwater flow data to assess how your home might be impacted by overland or creek flooding.
The report is typically prepared by a qualified civil engineer or hydraulic consultant and may include required building heights, slab levels, or construction materials that meet local flood resilience standards.

Why is this Needed?
In Queensland, many local councils enforce strict controls in flood-prone areas to reduce risk to life, property, and infrastructure. If your site sits within a designated flood overlay, you’ll need to supply a Flood Report Assessment to gain building approval.
Without this report, your application may be delayed, rejected, or require significant design changes. The report also ensures your home is built to withstand future weather events and meets state and local planning codes.
