What is a Brickyard Appointment?
A Brickyard Appointment is an in-person visit to a brick supplier’s selection centre — such as Austral Bricks — where you lock in your final brick choice. This step is crucial because bricks almost never look the same online or in a brochure as they do in real life. Seeing them in person, especially in natural light, makes a huge difference and ensures you choose a colour and texture you’ll be happy with. The appointment is usually booked once your façade design is confirmed.

Why is this Needed?
Making your brick selection early helps to:
- Lock in your preferred bricks before stock runs out
- Ensure your choice aligns with estate guidelines and council conditions
- Avoid delays in approvals, external selections, or the start of brickwork on site
How to Do This Task
1. Confirm your supplier - most commonly Austral Bricks
2. Book your appointment with your supplier
3. Prepare for your visit. Bring the following to help guide your choice:
- Estate or developer design guidelines
- House plans (to help match colours and materials)
4. Attend your brickyard appointment

6. Need to reschedule?
- Contact the brickyard directly to update your appointment
