What Is a Demolition Planning Approval Quality Check?

Once you’ve received your Demolition Planning Approval from your local council or regulatory body in Queensland, it’s important to check that the approval has been issued correctly and includes all necessary information before proceeding.

This task ensures you’ve reviewed the approval thoroughly and that any conditions are understood and accounted for in your upcoming demolition works.

Why is this Needed?

A quick quality check helps prevent:

  • Compliance issues during demolition
  • Delays if key approval conditions are missed
  • Rework or re-submission due to administrative errors

It’s especially important if your site is affected by overlays (e.g. flood, heritage, character) that may include special conditions or restrictions.

How it Works

1. Open the quality checklist from the scope works tab.

2. Raise a defect if something doesn’t look right. If details are missing, unclear, or incorrect, contact your planner, certifier, or council immediately and do not proceed to demolition until resolved.
