What is Electricity Provider Connect?

Electricity Provider Connect is the process of setting up a new electricity account and arranging the physical connection of power to your residential build site. This includes liaising with an electricity retailer and (if needed) a distributor to activate your supply.

Why is this Needed?

Electricity must be connected to your site in order to:

  • Energise the switchboard for lighting and power use on-site
  • Allow electricians to rough-in and test installations
  • Power construction tools and equipment
  • Enable occupancy and handover at the end of the build

Without an active electricity connection, critical work such as appliance installation, HVAC testing, and final inspections can be delayed.

How it Works

1. Contact our Expert Guidance and Support team. They’ll let you know which electricity retailer is preferred or most commonly used in your area.

2. Visit your assigned Electricity Provider’s website (e.g. AGL, Origin, EnergyAustralia, etc.)

3. Navigate to “New Connections” or “Moving House” section

4. Fill out the online form or call to book your connection. Be ready to provide:

  • Your full name and site address
  • NMI (National Meter Identifier), if known
  • Date you’d like the connection to go live
  • Site access instructions (e.g. gate code, Construction Buddy Contact)

5. Confirm account setup and expected energisation date

Once Confirmed

Once you've confirmed your account setup and expected energisation date, click the orange “Mark Complete” button to move to the next step in your construction workflow.
