What are Plans of Development Documents?

Plans of Development are documents that outline how land will be used, developed, or subdivided within a specific area. They are often part of planning schemes or development approvals and guide what can be built, where, and how.

How Do I Obtain This Document?

  1. Check with your local council. Most councils keep Plans of Development for subdivisions, estates, or specific zones. Search the council’s planning or development section on their website.
  2. Identify your property or area. Have your lot and plan number, street address, or estate name ready.
  3. Request the Plan of Development. Submit a property or planning records request online, via email, or in person. Some councils allow free downloads, others may charge a small fee.
  4. The council will supply a copy showing lot layouts, building areas, easements, and restrictions relevant to your property.
