What are Plans of Development Documents?
Plans of Development are documents that outline how land will be used, developed, or subdivided within a specific area. They are often part of planning schemes or development approvals and guide what can be built, where, and how.
How Do I Obtain This Document?
- Check with your local council. Most councils keep Plans of Development for subdivisions, estates, or specific zones. Search the council’s planning or development section on their website.
- Identify your property or area. Have your lot and plan number, street address, or estate name ready.
- Request the Plan of Development. Submit a property or planning records request online, via email, or in person. Some councils allow free downloads, others may charge a small fee.
- The council will supply a copy showing lot layouts, building areas, easements, and restrictions relevant to your property.
